WHAT?
Edible Homes is a advanced research + design studio that took place at Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art and Planning. The fall studio was lead by Claire Weisz and Marcos Escamilla-Guerrero. This website is the result of a pedagogic approach to architectural education, in which students co-designed every aspect of it with the intent of communicating their investigations and design to a broader audience. This website is also a public invitation to expand the research and engage with the issues that this platform analyses.

WHY THIS STUDIO IS IMPORTANT?
This studio positions architecture as an intent-driven discipline, beginning with rural contexts and extending to urban ones, to directly confront the urgent shortage of farmworker housing. By engaging with today’s intertwined environmental and social challenges, it asks students to think critically about how design can shape equitable, resilient spaces for the future.
