WHAT IS S, M L & XL?

In this context, the labels S, M, L and XL refer to different farm scales. From small family plots (S) to extra-large industrial operations (XL). Each scale shapes how a farm is defined, organized, and managed. Smaller farms often emphasize diversified tasks carried out by a limited workforce, while medium and large farms can specialize activities and employ more workers. At the extra-large scale, operations tend to be highly mechanized, seasonal peaks are more intense, and infrastructure must adapt to larger volumes and faster cycles. These differences in scale influence not only the daily dynamics of farm work but also the design, architecture, and layout required to support each type of operation.
