Maps
This map illustrates the diverse origins and proportions of migrant populations who work on farms across New York State. It highlights key sending countries and regions such as Mexico, Guatemala, Jamaica and others, displaying the percentage each group represents within the agricultural labor force. By combining geographic data with visual markers, the diagram makes visible the scale and distribution of migrant labor that sustains New York’s farms. It also reveals how agricultural production in the state is embedded within larger transnational networks of mobility and work. In doing so, the map underscores both the economic significance and the demographic diversity of migrant communities shaping the state’s agricultural sector.
